Result: With the audiovisual production of #PlayActDance, the focus of the third and final part of the campaign ‘Always Barcelona’ is on the talent, the innovation and the musical creativity of the city, which contribute to the social and economic ecosystem of Barcelona.
Sónar is a world-renowned electronic music festival, which combines top artists and emerging musicians with a great projection. One of the keys to Sónar’s success is the convergence between music and technology, which has made them both co-protagonists of more than fifty concerts held in Barcelona. Making the most of this unmissable event for gurus and electronic music lovers, Barcelona is focusing on highlighting the leading role of music in the city, which is key for economic development. Thus, #PlayActDance has taken advantage of the festival to vindicate its creative side and boost the city’s reputation internationally.
Using the festival’s spirit, the campaign #PlayActDance has wanted to astonish, becoming groundbreaking and innovative. That’s why the visual capsules created were recorded with four different devices and mounted in unique pieces where the images recorded were depicted with mini DV, 16mm, canon C300 cameras and even an iPhone.
#PlayActDance is part of the campaign ‘Always Barcelona‘, designed to strengthen the image of the city of Barcelona, which began in February concurring with the celebration of the Mobile World Congress. During the four days the congress was held, the slogan #ShareLikeFollow circulated quickly through the city and on the social networks of those attending the MWC.
| Betting on local talent
One of the keys to Sónar’s success is its ability to balance its performances between the big names in the electronic industry and lesser-known artists with a great musical projection. #PlayActDance bets on Barcelona’s talent and, following the festival’s philosophy, has counted on local artists with different levels of notoriety but who are all equal in talent, such as El Último Vecino, Heather, Alizzz, Pedro Vian, Awwz and Maria Arnal &Marcel Bagés.
